China-Fit Build Path Review

China does not need to manufacture the entire product. For many advanced hardware products, the right strategy is a China-fit path: use China where it has advantages in cost, speed, supplier density, and process capability while keeping sensitive or immature parts elsewhere.

Why This Is Needed

Teams often reduce the decision to build in China or do not build in China. That is too crude. The right answer may be to source subassemblies in China, keep sensitive modules overseas, pilot production in China first, or transfer only after the design stabilizes.

What FactoryFrontier Does

  • Break the product into parts, modules, subassemblies, and final integration steps.
  • Evaluate each layer for China fit based on cost, supplier density, quality risk, IP sensitivity, and process maturity.
  • Design a prototype, pilot, subassembly, or production strategy based on project stage.
  • Identify manufacturing steps that should remain under stronger customer control.

What You Receive

  • China-fit manufacturing path map.
  • Component-level China fit assessment.
  • Recommended manufacturing split: China, non-China, hybrid, or phased transfer.
  • Risk-based manufacturing roadmap.

Do not force everything into China. Use China where it creates real advantage.
